The Role of a Hospice Chaplain
What does a hospice chaplain do? How does a hospice chaplain help patients and families?
Read MoreGoing through end of life care can be incredibly taxing, both physically and emotionally. To assist with the second of the two, we offer spiritual care for patients and their family members. This care is facilitated by clergy members who have been specially trained in hospice and palliative care.
These clergy members are here to help patients and their families through the tough decisions that often have to be made during hospice care. Depression, anxiety, and fear are all common emotional symptoms during end of life care, and the spiritual care team is here to help patients through these symptoms. Creating an open, safe, and judgment-free environment is vital to having these difficult conversations and exploring all options.
Apart from emotional counseling, the spiritual care team can also help perform end of life services. These services can also be provided to patients who are not religious, but still would like emotional guidance.
