The Role of a Hospice Chaplain
What does a hospice chaplain do? How does a hospice chaplain help patients and families?
Read MoreThe goal of hospice care is to improve quality of life while the patient is going through end of life care. One way we do this is by helping with tasks around the home. This can include helping the patient get dressed, cooking meals, light house cleaning, maintaining the patient’s personal hygiene, and other basic house chores. Offering these services helps the patient maintain an independent lifestyle.
While these services are intended for patients who are living in their own home, we are able to offer assistance in a wide variety of living spaces. This includes hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, extended care facilities, and many others.
We understand that family members will often help with some of these duties, so we’re happy to coordinate with families. This can help family members feel involved in the care plan of their loved ones, which can frequently be a great source of bonding during the final days.
